Closing Concert. Bach and Latvians
The rover spirit of conductor Kaspars Putniņš challenges musicians and the audience. This time he has invited three Latvian composers to create an opus à la Veneziana of the 16th century when a mixed group of singers and instrumentalists was called a chorus. Is it possible today to create a singing, sparkling and vivacious instrument known by Claudio Monteverdi and Johann Sebastian Bach? Let us ask Ruta Paidere, Jānis Petraškevičs and Mārtiņš Viļums who are eager to merge the voices of the Latvian Radio Choir and the musicians of Sinfonietta Rīga.
