Autumn Chamber Music Festival. Beethoven’s Spring Sonata and Vasks

The chamber ensemble RARO (which is one of the number of pseudonyms of Robert Schumann) is a union of friends and colleagues, flexible and wonderfully united in their musical thinking; they perform in the most varied compositions depending on the music they play. However, the core of the ensemble is constant – the brilliant Latvian pianist Diāna Ketlere, who this time will perform together with violinist Alīna Pogostkina, favoured in Latvia, and clarinettist Reto Bieri, artist of the label ECM, who was born in Zug (Switzerland) and graduated from Juilliard School in New York. The programme features the amazing “Spring Sonata” by Beethoven, dazzlingly tangled “Contrasts” by Bartok, music by Berg, Debusse, Vasks, as well as the new work by Santa Ratniece, “Mirdzums”, which was ordered by Pēteris Vasks Foundation.
